Following breakfast, your driver and guide will take you some 50km through the countryside and past the rice fields set alongside the Kulen Mountain range, to bring you to the Beng Mealea Temple complex. Beng Mealea is almost as large as Angkor Wat and is one of the largest temple complexes that were built during Khmer reign and which are seldom visited. It contains galleries, libraries, pools and sanctuaries which are covered under fig tree roots and await discovery. In Beng Mealea, you will see bas reliefs showing portrait scenery from Khmer Mythology. You will enjoy a picnic lunch and then return to Siem Reap during the afternoon.
