Destinations: Vientiane

Your half day city tour begins with visiting the oldest temple, Wat Sisaket. This temple contains thousands of miniature Buddha statues. We will also be visiting the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which once housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. You will also see the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa. During your tour today, you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the impressive Patuxay Monument, which is often considered and known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. The final stop of the day will be a visit to the excellent COPE exhibition center. The exposition center highlights a very much overlooked aspect of daily life in Laos as a result of unexploded ordnance which remains a threat to people working the many farmlands. This was a result of unexploded ordinance remaining from heavy bombing campaigns over this specific region during the Vietnam War era.
